Our client is expanding their network services capability and is seeking a hands-on engineer to support enterprise customers across a diverse technical estate. Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Act as the first escalation point for network and security incidents across enterprise customers.
- Identify root causes, resolve incidents, and escalate to senior colleagues or vendors where required.
- Support and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, firewall, and managed network solutions.
- Implement and support wired and wireless network infrastructure using a range of vendor technologies.
- Carry out customer change requests in line with internal and client change management processes.
- Contribute to operational delivery, including incident, problem, change, and continual service improvement activities.
- Support datacentre operations, including cabling, racks, and coordination of third-party contractors.
- Participate in projects such as tooling enhancements, system migrations, and new service deployments.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, work instructions, and service records.
- Take part in an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in network technologies, with hands-on experience in routing, switching, and security environments. You will be methodical, customer-focused, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. A proactive approach, willingness to learn, and commitment to service quality will be essential for success.
