Job Summary This role is for a true self-starter - someone who can manage their workload effectively and productively with minimal management. You will need to attend customer sites in Guernsey to diagnose, mend and repair coffee machines and water machines (mainly) but also some post mix equipment and vending machines. Servicing of machines will also be in your remit. Some call outs may be a simple fix or the issue may be more complicated and require further investigation or a follow up visit. You will be responsible for ordering any parts required and ensuring any return work is booked in with the customer, if required. A professional and friendly manner is expected when communicating with our customers. Being one of the main contact points for customers, you will also be expected to support any new business/sales opportunities and subsequent installations. Any customer quotes for new machines will need to be signed off by your line manager. The ability to manage your own time and prioritise your workload is important. You will have an experienced team you can liaise with about any issues that you are unable to resolve. Manufacturer and/or internal training will be given to ensure you are confident and competent in carrying out all duties expected of you. Initial training may be held in Jersey but the role is based in Guernsey. Working hours will typically be around 45 hours a week (includes an unpaid 1 hour lunch break), Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm. Sometimes the role will require a degree of flexibility. Skills & Knowledge Required: • Experience: At least 2 years' experience in an engineer role A comprehensive understanding of the mechanics of coffee, water and vending machines and post mix equipment. A strong ability to problem-solve issues and sometimes think outside the box Excellent customer facing manner .Operational Management: Job cost management: if job costs are racking up and problems persist, you are expected to consult with senior members of your team to discuss and share problems and explore other avenues to ensure costs are managed effectively. Being our eyes and ears on the ground, you are expected to share any customer feedback that you think the rest of team should hear (good or bad!) Look at ways to improve company processes, our quality of service and the services we offer our customers, with a view to optimising our efficiency and output and our customer experience. Manage your time efficiently and update the senior leadership team of any delays or issues in completing your workload so that the customer can be advised of any delays or another engineer can be re-assigned the job. The focus is always on our customer experience. .Administrative Duties: Pick up your jobs allocated using the Simpro app and check our messaging platform for last-minute jobs Ensure any parts are ordered in a timely manner Follow up with customers (on email or by 'phone) to arrange any follow-up visits and keep the customer up to date Ensure that any machines being installed or that are already on site with a customer are QR coded and are loaded into Simpro, noting the install date. . Customer Relations: On customer sites, and when driving in our logo'd vans, you are the face of the company so a calm temperament and the ability to deal with customers in an efficient and professional manner is key Excellent communication skills are needed both internally and when customer facing Digital Literacy: The ability to use our mobile job management app (Simpro), Outlook and other Microsoft packages. Maths Skills: Basic numeracy for invoicing, checking parts prices and applying any discounts/special rates .Qualifications: Driving: A valid driver's license (with a clean driving record for at least 3 years). Personal Qualities: Reliability: High degree of punctuality and ability to work independently with minimal supervision Attention to Detail: Ensure jobs are fully documented in Simpro and any follow ups are scheduled Flexibility: Willingness to be flexible on occasion if required. DBS check: A Scottish Disclosure/Police DBS check will be carried out by the Company for all new employees.
