Senior Insurance Manager – Aon Insurance Managers, Guernsey Are you an experienced (re)insurance professional looking to shape the future of captive and alternative risk solutions? This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Guernsey office, although due to the regulated nature of activities carried out the successful candidate is anticipated to be a full time resident in Guernsey. What the day will look like Aon Insurance Managers in Guernsey (“AIMG”) is seeking an experienced (re)insurance professional to join its leadership team as a Senior Insurance Manager. The role cuts across a broad selection of AIMG’s client base and business divisions and offers a remarkable opportunity to work on innovative captive and insurance solutions. Initially, the successful candidate will assume the Client Executive role for a portfolio of existing captive clients with responsibility for leading the service team to ensure that service excellence is delivered to the highest standards. Day-to-day, you will: Assume responsibility for service excellence across a portfolio of captive clients, ensuring that all aspects of the annual cycle are completed in a timely manner and to a high standard. Advise clients on optimum risk financing solutions and structures, ensuring all client regulatory and legal requirements are aligned with. Lead, direct, and motivate colleagues toward the accomplishment of goals and objectives, identifying development and training requirements to enhance skills and support succession planning. Apply strategic and operational planning agreed by AIMG’s Senior Leadership Team and Aon Captive & Insurance Managers (“ACIM”) Head Office to your own servicing team and participate in determining AIMG’s long and short-term objectives in line with wider ACIM. Support AIMG’s business development strategy, including assisting in the formation of RfP responses, presentations, programme design and new business onboarding across captives, commercial (re)insurance carriers and new humanitarian solutions. Understand AIMG’s budget and your contribution to achieving targets, ensuring consistency and operational efficiency in the provision of services through effective management systems and tools. Promote captives internally and externally, and help attract, develop, and retain the talent needed to achieve business objectives and deliver high quality services to clients. Allocate time to provide insurance function support to colleagues, including identifying training needs, developing, and mentoring insurance staff and providing guidance on high-level insurance queries, technical issues, and complex wordings' review. Complete or assist in completing any other projects or work as assigned by the Managing Director or Senior Leadership Team, delivering to any agreed timescales. How this opportunity is different This role offers the opportunity to sit at the heart of AIMG’s insurance team, working across a wide and sophisticated portfolio of captive and (re)insurance clients. You will: Shape innovative risk financing and captive structures, including innovative and humanitarian-focused solutions. Lead and develop a high-performing service team, with direct influence on talent development and succession planning. Combine client-facing responsibilities with strategic input into AIMG’s growth, business development, and operational objectives. It is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong (re)insurance professional from captive management, underwriting, broking or (re)insurance consulting to move into a broader leadership role with real impact. Skills and experience that will lead to success ACII qualification / or equivalent (or working towards) – essential. Previous general insurance experience and strong technical knowledge of the insurance and reinsurance industry – essential. Proven experience in leading teams and line management, with some experience of staff supervision. Previous experience within the captive insurance industry – highly desirable.
