Our client, a prestigious offshore legal firm with a rich history and a global footprint, is seeking a highly organized and adaptable Legal Administrator to join their Litigation team in Jersey. This is an exceptional opportunity to embed yourself within a sophisticated legal environment known for its pragmatic advice and collaborative culture. You will work side-by-side with fee earners, providing critical administrative support that directly impacts the efficiency and success of the wider team. To accommodate the right candidate, this role offers a degree of flexibility in terms of reduced or condensed hours, with a preference for the role to be spread across five days per week. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will manage a diverse portfolio of administrative and junior fee-earning tasks, ensuring the smooth operational running of the department: • Fee Earner Support: Deliver comprehensive administrative support, including diary management, inbox monitoring, and coordinating travel and accommodation for off-island business trips. • Client & Matter Management: Act as a key liaison for client onboarding, ensuring all new matter documentation is meticulously prepared, and coordinate practical arrangements for client meetings. • Documentation & Billing: Assist with formatting, proofreading, and collating legal documents, manage both hard and electronic Court bundling, and handle monthly billing entries and expense claims. • Operational Liaison: Coordinate directly with the Court and Court Offices on behalf of fee earners, and carry out swift, efficient legal searches. • Team Collaboration: Offer flexible cover for the wider administrative team and executive assistants during peak periods to maintain seamless client service. Qualifications & Experience The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strong organizational capability and professional polish: • Education: Ideally a graduate, or educated to A-Level (or equivalent) with strong academic grades. An administration or secretarial qualification is highly advantageous. • Experience: Prior experience within a professional services firm—ideally a legal environment—is preferred, alongside exposure to document management systems. • Technical Skills: Confident IT literacy with a sound working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and excellent typing and formatting skills. • Competencies: A calm, proactive approach under pressure, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to work independently with appropriate supervision.
