Compliance, Risk Our client is seeking an experienced Manager to join their Independence, Ethics & Business Conduct team in the Channel Islands. This full-time position plays a critical role in safeguarding the firm's integrity and compliance with established independence standards. The successful candidate will be instrumental in overseeing compliance monitoring, training, and reporting, which align with both global and UK policies. By actively identifying ethical risks and promoting responsible behaviour, this role will contribute significantly to the firm’s mission of building trust and solving important societal challenges. Job Duties:
Lead and coach a team to deliver key activities for compliance, independence, and ethics. Ensure the firm’s business conduct is managed consistently, covering areas such as Engagement Independence, Anti-Trust, Bribery and Corruption, Conflicts of Interest, and more. Champion the firm’s Code of Conduct and promote a culture of open dialogue and ethical decision-making. Support engagement teams in aligning with independence requirements as per Network and regulatory standards. Liaise with counterparts to maintain alignment of local policies with global frameworks. Monitor network communications and respond accordingly. Draft and propose policy updates, ensuring relevance and alignment with current standards. Manage ethics-related initiatives, including training programmes for new and existing policies. Contribute to the design of the independence compliance framework for partners and staff. Collaborate with Risk and Quality teams to ensure regulatory alignment and oversee compliance logs. Manage responses to data requests and prepare reports for the Risk and Quality Committee.
Job Requirements:
Solid understanding of independence and ethics requirements, including IESBA guidelines. Proven ability to assess and mitigate risks related to independence and business conduct. Strong analytical skills to evaluate regulatory requirements and their operational impact. Experience in compliance monitoring or audit and ability to produce clear, actionable reports. Demonstrated skills in policy drafting and control design to ensure compliance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging with stakeholders. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and psychologically safe work environment. Leadership experience in managing individuals and fostering collaboration.
