Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 27 March 2026

Friday

Weather

A cloudy day, with a spit and spot of light rain in the air from time to time. The WSW’ly wind will be comfortably light through the first half of the morning, then moderate until around sunset, when it briefly increases to fresh force 5, as a band of rain and drizzle sweeps through, and then tilts the wind round to a NW’ly direction for the rest of the night. Daytime max 11-12°C. Overnight min 6-7°C.

Surf and the Water

3 foot surf, clean at dawn but rather choppy from mid-morning onwards. Winds probably won’t ever be strong enough for windsurfing and kitesurfing though. As for the best swimming conditions, they will definitely be along the east coast. Tiny tidal movements, with low water around 7:20am and high water around 1:50pm (just 6.6m).

Saturday

Weather

A very similar day to the Thursday we’ve just had, with skies half cloudy/half sunny, and a force 4-5 NNW’ly wind making the 10°C max feel like a mere 6°C, unless you seek some decent shelter, such as down on the south coast cliffs and beaches. Only the slimmest chance of a shower though, so probably a good day to hang the laundry or mow the lawn.

Surf and the Water

Choppy west-coast surf, but it will be about 6-8 feet and powerful, meaning that the south coast will probably have some clean 3-4 foot waves… tide permitting. Winds will generally be good for windsurfing and kitesurfing, but the swimming conditions will only really be smooth on the south coast. Small tidal movements, with low water around 9:20am and high water around 3:20pm (just 7m).

Sunday

Weather

Starting dry and bright, with a very light NW’ly breeze. Becoming cloudy by late morning with the gentle breeze backing to a W’ly direction. That wind then strengthening to force 4-5 by evening, with the approach of a band of rain and drizzle (probably falling between about 7 and 10pm).Max daytime temp around 11-12°C, min overnight temp around 8-9°C.

Surf and the Water

The surf will be just like Friday, in terms of size and cleanliness… 3-4 feet and the breakfast time session really being the only one when the onshore wind is light enough not to spoil things. The change in wind-strength through the day, will also mean that breakfast time is best for swimming, and that dinnertime might just be good enough for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Low water around 11:20am and high water around 5:25pm (just 7.7m).

Next Week

Weather

Perhaps some showers on Thursday and maybe a longer spell of rain on Friday. Otherwise we are looking at a dry week, with bland middle-of the-road temperatures (for the cusp of March/April)… peaking around 11-13°C by day and falling to around 7-9°C by night. Wind-wise, Monday and Tuesday look likely to be a little breezy… force 4-5 NW’ly, then Wednesday to Friday (although the detail is uncertain), the wind is looking very light indeed (almost calm at times) so those days should be really comfortable, whatever the ratio of cloud to sunshine.

Surf and the Water

The return of big spring tides, with breakfast and dinnertime highs… 8.2m on Monday, increasing incrementally until they are 9.4m on Thursday and Friday. Choppy surf Monday and Tuesday… 8 feet, gradually reducing to 4 feet. Mostly clean surf Wednesday onward… roughly 3 feet throughout.

The next forecast update will be on Monday morning…
