Sunday and Monday
Weather
A couple of more typical days, W’ly breezes bringing mornings that are mostly cloudy, and afternoons that are mostly sunny. Those breezes will be force 3-4 on Sunday and then feeling more pleasant at just force 2-3 on Monday. Max temps around 20°C both days. Sunday morning looks as though it might have a little light rain too. Not nearly satisfy the fields and gardens, but if it happens then it will be a little bit better than nothing.
Surf and the Water
The surf should be about 1 foot and weak on Sunday, then it should be a much-needed 3-4 feet and reasonably clean and juicy on Monday. Swimming conditions will generally be best in the afternoons, and most especially on the east coast. Tides will be low at lunchtime. Highs will be pre-breakfast and then around dinnertime (those evening highs being 7.9m and 8.1m respectively).
Tuesday
Weather
At the moment, the proximity of an Atlantic low pressure system will either mean that we have a mostly cloudy day with light to moderate SSW’ly breezes, or we will have a pristine day with barely a breath of wind or puff of cloud. Either way, it should be comfortably warm, with a max of about 22°C. As for rain… neither scenario is likely to yield a single drop, so your laundry will be loving it but your gardens will be gasping for a drink, so don’t forget to get out there and show them a little bit of love.
Surf and the Water
Super-clean 2-3 foot surf, with lovely swimming conditions once again. Tides will be 7.9m high at 7:40am and 8.3m high around 8pm. Low tide will be around 2pm.
Wednesday and Thursday
Weather
Another two days with very little change… most likely dry, with cloudier mornings, and sunnier afternoons. Only the slimmest chance of some very light rain on Thursday morning. Not enough to be of any real benefit, that’s if it even happens at all. The difference between these days and the previous though, will be that the breeze will be a light force 3 NW’ly, just brining slightly cooler air, so it’s unlikely that the daily maxima will be any higher than 20°C, and then the nightly minima will be around 14-15°C.
Surf and the Water
The onshore wind will make the surf a bit sloppy but not especially choppy. 3-4 feet on Wednesday and then 2-3 feet on Thursday. Swimming conditions will be loveliest on the east and south coasts, especially in the afternoons. Tides will be high around breakfast time (8.1m) and dusk (8.3m). Low tides will be in the mid-afternoons.
Friday and The Weekend
Weather
Bone dry and fabulously sunny with light NW’ly breezes on Friday and Saturday, veering to even lighter NE’ly breezes on Sunday, thus leading to moderate warming, initially around the early July average, then only marginally above on Saturday and more significantly above on Sunday. To put some numbers on this… around 23°C for the Friday max, 24-25°C for the Saturday max and 26-27 for the Sunday max. Nightly minima will be around 15°C, 17°C and 19°C respectively.
Surf and the Water
The surf will be around 3 feet and pretty clean. Perfect for a proper beachy summer weekend. Swimming conditions will be lovely on all coasts, especially the south. The tides will be high in the mid-mornings and soon after dusk (generally a little over 8m). Low tides will be in the mid to late afternoons.
The next forecast update will be on Tuesday…
