Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 05 July 2026

Sunday

Weather

Much like the previous days, the low cloud brining more mist and even light drizzle in the morning than initially expected. The power of the early July sunshine, however, being sufficient to penetrate and evaporate the cloud to a blue-sky afternoon. Winds will be gentler than on Saturday, only light force 2-3 W’ly, so the max temp of 22°C (perhaps 23°C in Town) should feel a bit warmer. Min temp overnight 13-15°C, depending on cloud amounts towards dawn.

Surf and the Water

The surf will be very weak and sloppy, but there should at least be something for kids to play with. Swimming conditions will be loveliest in the afternoon in terms of time, and in the east in terms of places. Tides will be 7.8m high at 10:40am, then low at 4:50pm.

Monday and Tuesday

Weather

Hot weather again, getting into the very high twenties in the afternoons. Likely peaking at 28-29°C on Monday and 27-28°C on Tuesday, the only difference being that the light and variable breeze will only switch to a light force 3 NW’ly towards evening time on Monday, but this will happen in the early afternoon on Tuesday. Weather-wise, there’s only the smallest chance of some low cloud and mist around breakfast time, but skies should otherwise be clear. Nightly minima will be between 15 and 17°C.

Surf and the Water

Gorgeous swimming, kayaking and paddle-boarding conditions, but probably no surfable waves, except perhaps a ripple for the youngest of learners. High tides will be 7.7m around 11:15am Monday and 7.5m around midday Tuesday. Low tides will be around dawn and dinnertime.

Wednesday to Friday

Weather

With the centre of the current settled-weather high pressure system remaining very close to the Islands, it would only take a small difference in its precise position, for the almost unbroken sunshine to be accompanied by a gentle breeze of either eastern origin or western origin. The resulting temperature would be in the very high twenties for the E’ly breeze screnario, or in the low to mid- twenties for the W’ly breeze scenario. The only possible alternative to sunshine would be if a fog patch in the Channel happens to collide with the Islands. If that happens at all, then it would only be momentary.

Surf and the Water

Once again, the only chance of any surf is for the kids. The waves generally being too small and weak to keep any adults in motion, even with the biggest of boards. Gorgeous swimming conditions though, with high tides in the early afternoons, around 7.3m. Low tides will be around 2.9m, at breakfast time and in the evenings.

The next forecast update will be on Tuesday or Wednesday…
