Wednesday
Weather
Sunny and hot, simple as that. Max daytime temp around 28°C, min night time temp 17°C. Winds light and variable until a light force 3 NE’ly arrives in the afternoon. Max UV 7, so important to keep skin protected from mid-morning until late afternoon.
Surf and the Water
Flat surf but gorgeous swimming conditions… all coasts in the morning and then especially the south coast in the afternoon. Tides will be 7.4m high around 1pm, and low around 7am and pm.
Thursday and Friday
Weather
Sunny and even hotter. Max daytime temps around 29°C on Thursday and 31°C on Friday. Max UV 7, so important to keep skin protected from mid-morning until late afternoon. Min night time temps around 20°C on Thursday night and 19°C on Friday night. Winds will be ENE’ly in the mornings and NE’ly in the afternoons, generally light force 3 on Thursday and moderate force 4 on Friday. The only chance of any weather (and it’s a very small chance) is that some French thunderstorms could blow in our direction on Thursday night.
Surf and the Water
The surf will be tiny and very weak, but there should at least be something for the youngest learners to play with. Swimming conditions will be loveliest on the south coast. Tides will be high around 2 and 3pm respectively (7.3m and 7.4m). Low tide will be around breakfast time and dusk.
The Weekend
Weather
Increasing winds will moderate the temperature to some extent, even though the air will still be on the hot side and the weather almost entirely sunny (just the slim chance of some showers later Sunday). Winds will still be ENE’ly, increasing to fresh force 5 by the end of Saturday, then strong force 6 by the end of Sunday. Daytime max temps 27°C and 24°C respectively. Max UV 7, so important to keep skin protected from mid-morning until late afternoon. Overnight min temps 19°C and 18°C respectively.
Surf and the Water
The increasing wind will kill off the small hope of any surf. Once again, the south coast will be best for swimming, but now we can look to the north coast for a bit of kitesurfing and windsurfing. Tides will be low in the late mornings and high in the late afternoons (7.7m an 8.1m respectively).
Next Week
Weather
Monday and Tuesday are looking similar to the weekend in terms of wind. Skies a little cloudier at times though, possibly even yielding some showers (fingers crossed because they are much needed). This will stop temperatures from rising any higher than the low to mid-twenties on those days. The latter days of the week should be similar in every respect except with much lighter winds. This will certainly make it feel warmer, but it’s unlikely that actual temperatures will climb any higher than 25°C. (Sounds pretty perfect for July, by most peoples’ standards).
Surf and the Water
Sorry surfers, but the future looks flat. As for the windsurfers and kitesurfers, you guys should pounce on Monday and Tuesday. Swimmers should look more to the latter part of the week, especially down on the south coast. Tides will be high in the early mornings and at dinner times, made large by the effect of the new moon… peaking around 9.5m on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The next forecast update will be on Saturday…
