Sunday and Monday
Weather
For the most part it will be sunny and warm, but not really hot any more, not now the ENE’ly wind is blowing force 5-6, with occasional gusts of 40-45mph. The sea walls will offer the best shelter for a spot of sunbathing, and high tide will be best for anyone who wants to take a quick dip. Weather-wise, we might see a bit of a change on Monday, in the form of some thundery showers drifting up from France. Such things are always very uncertain, but if it does happen then it will most likely be in the late morning and then around dusk. Max temps will be about 25°C on Sunday and 24°C on Monday. Overnight mins will be about 17°C.
Surf and the Water
With the strongest ENE’ly winds of the period, this will be the only chance that surfers get to ride some waves. Albeit very choppy, these are the kinds of winds that commonly produce some rideable fun ones at Pembroke. Certainly, at the very least, the kitesurfers and windsurfers should be smiling from ear to ear. If you’re planning to swim, then a few choice spots might be Petit Port, Jaonnet Bay, Grande Rocque or Les Amarreurs (and don’t even think about playing with any inflatables). Tides will be low around midday. High tides will be around dawn and towards dinner time, increasing from 7.5m on Sunday morning to 8.3m on Monday evening.
Tuesday and Wednesday
Weather
Again mostly sunny and dry. Just the small chance of a thundery shower. A smaller chance than on Monday, but not a zero chance. The ENE’ly wind will ease significantly… moderate force 4 on Tuesday morning, relaxing light force 3 in the afternoon, then further relaxing light force 2 on Wednesday. These lighter winds will allow temperatures to climb again, so we should see a max of about 25°C on Tuesday and 27°C on Wednesday.
Surf and the Water
Much gentler winds, making swimming conditions much better on all coasts. The surf will be pretty much flat though, only the teeniest little ripple for SUP riders to briefly cruise along. Tides will be high at breakfast time and mid-evening, increasing from 8.7m on Tuesday morning to 9.5m on Wednesday evening.
Thursday and Friday
Weather
With winds switching to light force 3 W’ly, skies will turn cloudy and misty in the mornings, mainly in the west, not so much in Town. There might even be the odd moment out west when the mist thickens into a bit of drizzle. All these changes are going to lead to a noticeable decline in temperatures, with daily maxima of about 20-21°C in most parishes and 22°C in Town.
Surf and the Water
Likely flat for surfers but lovely and glassy smooth for swimmers, kayakers and paddle-boarders. Tides will be about 9.3m high around late breakfast, then about 9.6m high around dusk. Low tides will be mid-afternoon.
The Weekend
Weather
Winds will remain W’ly and perhaps increase to moderate force 4. Skies might be cloudy and misty again in the early mornings, but super-sunny through the rest of each day, so the temperatures will continue to peak around 21°C in the days, and fall to around 14-15°C in the nights.
Surf and the Water
More flatness for surfers but some decent swimming conditions on the east coast. Tides will be high in the mid to late mornings, then low in the late afternoons.
