Monday
Weather
Light force 3 NW’ly breezes for the most part (possibly tickling moderate force 4 at times). This will bring a relative chilliness to the air, which will counterbalance the sunshine and prevent temperatures from rising any higher than 20-21°C in many places, but probably allow Town to hit 22°C. Min temps overnight (a beautiful starry one) will be 14-15°C.
Surf and the Water
The onshore wind will only be light, so the 2-foot surf should be reasonably clean and good to ride. Swimming conditions will be decent enough on the exposed coasts but best of all on the sheltered south and east. Tides will be high around 6am and 6:20pm (7.3m and 7.8m respectively). Low water will be at lunchtime.
Tuesday
Weather
Barely a breath of wind, but what there is will be SE’ly, brining only extra heat from sunny France. Skies should be super-blue by day and starry by night. Watch out for the strong UV between late morning and mid-afternoon. Max temp daytime around 25°C (maybe even 26°C in the late afternoon). Min overnight temp 16-17°C.
Surf and the Water
I’m afraid, just like that, the surf will be flat again. Swimming, kayaking and paddle-boarding conditions will be silky perfection though, on this the hottest day of the week. Tides getting bigger as we are only one day shy of the full Buck Moon. Tides will be high around 6:45am and 7pm (7.7m and 8.2m respectively). Low water will be at lunchtime.
Wednesday
Weather
Windless and cloudless. Without any French influence, it will all be home-grown heat... organic, zero airmiles, yum yum yum, soak it up and breath it in. Max temp daytime around 24°C (maybe 25-26°C in Town). Min overnight temp 16-17°C again.
Surf and the Water
No surf again, but oh my goodness, the absolute windless glassiness of the water will make it absolutely incredible for all the gentler aquatic activities (not to mention the slightly less gentle but doubly awesome activities like cliff diving). Bigger tides again, with highs around 7:30am and 7:40pm (8.1m and 8.5m respectively). Low water will be at lunchtime.
Thursday and Friday
Weather
A tad cloudier and cooler but still lovely in the grand scheme. Light force 2-3 W’ly breezes on Thursday and N’ly on Friday, will bring a streaky veil of cirrus cloud, thus making the sunshine more hazy and a little less intense. Town will take the top temperature each day… 22°C on Thursday and 20°C on Friday.
Surf and the Water
Only the small chance of some rideable 1-2 foot waves on Friday, otherwise we are simply looking at further flatness, and further lovely swimming conditions (although more confined to the east coast on Thursday and the south coast on Friday). Tides will be high around breakfast time and just before dusk (ranging from 8.3m to 8.8m). Lows will be in the early afternoons.
The Weekend
Weather
A similar story of relatively cool hazy sunshine to the previous two days. Winds remaining light force 3 N’ly. The south coast will be the place to go if your planning on a beachy weekend. The tidal range being nice and large, exposing a vast amount of sand in Moulin Huet Bay, and a reasonable amount at the like of Petit Bot and Jaonnet Bay. Temps will likely peak at just 20°C each day and fall to around 14°C each night.
Surf and the Water
Same old words as so many recent days repeated… flat surf, but good swimming conditions, mainly on the south coast. Tides will be high in the mid-mornings and just after dusk (ranging from 8.6m to 8.9m). Lows will be in the late afternoons.
The next forecast update will be on Wednesday morning…
