Guernsey Weather Fox

Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 27 October 2026

The Rest of Tuesday

Weather

The force 4-5 W’ly wind will bring sunny spells and bubbly clouds. Possibly one or two brief light showers, but most likely dry. If there is a shower or two then they certainly won’t be remotely similar to the heavy rain that fell around dawn. Temperatures will be 14-15°C flatline, until late in the night, lighter winds allow heat to escape and let the mercury descend to 11or 12°C.

Surf and the Water

The west-coast surf will be 5-6 feet and very choppy. There could be something clean and just about rideable down at Petit Bot in the lower half of the tide. This will will be through lunchtime until mid-afternoon. High tide (a very splashy one on the west coast) will be 9.5m around 7:15pm.

Wednesday

Weather

The westerly wind will be force 3-4 around dawn and just force 2-3 by dusk, which is a lot calmer than it has been for a number of days now, so this will make the partial sunshine feel a lot more pleasant than it did on Sunday or Tuesday for example. Town will feel nicest of all, due to its relative shelter making the air almost still at times. Daytime max 15°C (maybe 16°C in Town). Overnight min 9-10°C.

Surf and the Water

Although still onshore, the breeze will be getting lighter and lighter, such that the 3-5 foot surf could be quite clean by the end of the day. Swimming conditions will be much improved, but the east coast will still be more smooth and sheltered than all others. Tides will be 9.5m high at 7:30am and 9.4m high just before 8pm. Low water will be around 2pm.

Thursday and Friday

Weather

Sunny skies, with a dry continental SE’ly flow. We should achieve at least the same temperature as the previous two days. However, the fact that the air is coming from France, at this time of year, doesn’t really mean that we will receive any extra heat. In fact, it won’t be long before the continent is consistently cooler than the Channel, and it will be quite the opposite of how things are in the summer. Daytime maxima should be around 15°C, overnight minima around 9-10°C. Quite simply a couple of beautiful days and starry nights.

Surf and the Water

Not huge (around 3 feet) but really a couple of excellent surf days. Tides will be a bit awkward to work around, now the clock have changed and the mornings tides will be mostly too high and the afternoons mostly too low. Obviously there will be some sweet spots though. Swimming conditions will be best in the west and north, especially around the breakfast time highs (9.2m on Thursday and 8.9m on Friday). Low tides will be around 3pm.

The Weekend

Weather

Both day’s dry, sunny for the most part but cloudy at times, likely more cloudy on Sunday than on Saturday. Winds will be force 3-4 E’ly on Saturday and then force 4-5 ENE’ly on Sunday. Saturday likely therefore likely to feel as though it’s warmer, even though both days will peak around 15°C.

Surf and the Water

The surf will remain around 3 feet in size, occasionally 4 feet on the sets. Saturday should be fractionally cleaner than Sunday, due to the wind backing from cross-offshore to a more pure cross-shore. Saturday will be best on the beaches, Sunday on the reefs. High tides will be around 10am (8.4m Saturday, 7.8m Sunday). Low tides will be towards dusk.

The next forecast update will be on Thursday evening or Friday morning….
